How will you act if you witness anything that divides us?
What steps will you take to help make Aotearoa free from racism, discrimination, and hate?”
Beautiful Light Nurzainah Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust dedicated to fostering social cohesion and advancing education in Aotearoa. Established with a vision to cultivate a society where every individual is celebrated and respected, regardless of their background, our trust is committed to reducing hate crime and promoting inclusivity through innovative educational initiatives. By focusing on empowering our tamariki and rangatahi, we aim to create a future where discrimination, bullying, and racism are not tolerated. Our approach involves collaborating with communities, providing resources, and supporting victims to build a more harmonious and equitable society for all.
Inspiration
Our inspiration stems from the profound unity demonstrated by New Zealanders following the tragic terrorist attack at the Christchurch masjidain on 15 March 2019. This collective response showcased our nation’s resilience and commitment to solidarity, proving that hatred and division have no place in our society. We draw strength from this example, striving to embody the same spirit of togetherness and mutual respect in all our endeavors. It is this powerful demonstration of unity that drives us to work towards a world where every individual is embraced, and diversity is celebrated.
Our Vision
We envision an Aotearoa where harmony and unity prevail, free from the constraints of hate and prejudice. Our aspiration is for a society where every person’s spiritual beliefs, race, or ethnic background is not only respected but celebrated without fear of discrimination. We aim for a world where racial harassment, violence, and hatred are unequivocally rejected, and where cultural diversity and human rights are cherished. In this inclusive vision of Aotearoa, every individual counts and contributes to the richness of our shared community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster racial tolerance and promote harmony through education and empowerment. We focus on engaging and educating our tamariki and rangatahi to recognize and address discrimination, bullying, and hate speech effectively. By offering various programs and resources, we support communities affected by hate crimes and work to prevent such incidents. We believe that by equipping young people with the tools to confront and overcome prejudice, we can inspire significant, positive change that will benefit future generations and enhance social cohesion.
